Gewidmet der Familie Guglielmi, die im 19. Jahrhundert in Jago erstmals Reben kultivierte, steht er f\u00fcr eine R\u00fcckkehr zu den Urspr\u00fcngen und wird nur in den besten Jahrg\u00e4ngen erzeugt. Nach zehn Jahren Reifung in gro\u00dfen Holzf\u00e4ssern in einem dunklen und k\u00fchlen Keller erreicht er eine Tiefe und Ausgewogenheit, die ihm Klarheit und stille Kraft verleiht. Es wurden lediglich 1.200 Flaschen produziert.<\/p>\n<p>Die Trauben stammen aus den eigenen Weinbergen in Jago, Gemeinde Negrar in Valpolicella, im historischen Gebiet der Valpolicella Classica nahe Colle Masua. Die Weinberge liegen auf 240 bis 252 Metern \u00fcber dem Meeresspiegel mit \u00f6stlicher Ausrichtung. Die B\u00f6den sind kalkhaltig, marinen Ursprungs, eher flachgr\u00fcndig und von mittlerer Fruchtbarkeit. Die Reben werden im Guyot System erzogen, mit einer Pflanzdichte von 3.300 bis 4.000 Rebst\u00f6cken pro Hektar. Der Ertrag liegt zwischen 80 und 100 Doppelzentnern pro Hektar, wobei nur die besten Trauben ausgew\u00e4hlt werden.<\/p>\n<p>Die Cuv\u00e9e besteht haupts\u00e4chlich aus Corvina Veronese und Corvinone, erg\u00e4nzt durch einen kleinen Anteil Rondinella. Die Lese erfolgt von Hand zwischen Mitte September und Anfang Oktober. Die sorgf\u00e4ltig selektierten Trauben werden in kleinen Kisten getrocknet, wobei sie \u00fcber drei bis vier Monate etwa 30 Prozent ihres urspr\u00fcnglichen Gewichts verlieren. Nach sanfter Entrappung und Pressung erfolgt die G\u00e4rung in Edelstahltanks bei kontrollierten Temperaturen zwischen 10 und 18 \u00b0C. Die Maischeg\u00e4rung dauert vier Wochen mit t\u00e4glichem Umpumpen, anschlie\u00dfend findet im Fr\u00fchjahr die malolaktische G\u00e4rung statt.<\/p>\n<p>Der Wein verbleibt bis April im Stahl, reift danach zw\u00f6lf Monate in 500 Liter franz\u00f6sischen Eichenf\u00e4ssern und weitere neun Jahre in gro\u00dfen 2000 bis 2500 Liter fassenden slawonischen Eichenf\u00e4ssern, gefolgt von zw\u00f6lf Monaten Flaschenreife. Im Glas zeigt er sich granatrot mit Aromen von Konfit\u00fcre, reifen und sauren Kirschen, Trockenfr\u00fcchten, Gew\u00fcrzen, Tabak und Kakao. Am Gaumen ist er w\u00fcrzig und balsamisch, kraftvoll und zugleich elegant, intensiv und lang anhaltend mit bemerkenswerter Balance.<\/p>\n<p>Mit 16 Prozent Alkohol besitzt er ein Reifepotenzial von 15 bis 20 Jahren. Serviert wird er bei 18 \u00b0C in gro\u00dfen Burgundergl\u00e4sern. Er passt zu halbgereiftem K\u00e4se, idealerweise aus der Region, zu Waln\u00fcssen, Mandeln, Haseln\u00fcssen, K\u00fcrbiskernen und Datteln sowie zu Wildgefl\u00fcgel wie Rebhuhn, Taube, Fasan oder Waldschnepfe.
