Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico 2003 by Bertani
After an average winter, spring began with high temperatures, quite outside the normal. The summer too was characterised by higher temperatures as well as low rainfall, resulting in lower yields and an early harvest to maintain the acidity levels.
Assemblage: Corvina 80%, rondinella 20%.
Alcohol: 15%
Colour: Dark purple-red.
Aroma: Striking for the intensity and range of aromas like ripe red fruit, blackberry, black cherry and blackcurrant accompanied by rich aromas of dry plum, hay, tea leaf, cocoa and liquorice.
Palate: Pleasant with good structure and richness. Complex tannins perfectly balanced with acidity, with a long fruity aftertaste.
Ageing: In the middle of its purple patch.
