“Crearo Conca d’Oro” by Tommasi
Tommasi’s “Crearo Conca d’Oro” is a one-of-a-kind red wine that is remembered for its varied aromas on the nose, as well as for its full and round sip, which always caresses the palate with the right balance and an enviable smoothness. It is a blend of native vines and Cabernet Franc, a unique variety not present in any other local wine that grows in the Crearo cru from the Conca d’Oro vineyard, one of the most suitable areas of the Valpolicella Classica. A bottle that can easily age for another four or five years, reaching surprising evolutions.
The “Crearo Conca d’Oro” comes from a blend where Corvina and Oseleta, indigenous red grape varieties, join an international variety, Cabernet Franc. The vines, which are more than 20 years old, are grown with low yields within the Tommasi property, located in one of the most historic areas in the whole of Valpolicella. The must obtained from pressing the berries ferments in steel containers, macerating for 15 days at a controlled temperature between 21 and 23 degrees centigrade. The refinement lasts for 6 months in oak tonneau and a further 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels. After bottling, the wine remains to mature for another 6 months directly in glass.
Tommasi’s red wine “Crearo Conca d’Oro” is announced to the eye with a beautiful ruby color, bright and concentrated. The aromas that envelop the nose tell of a broad bouquet, where the spices first manifest themselves with intensity, and then give way to more fruity aromas and light hints that bring back to the licorice root. In the mouth it is full-bodied, broad on the palate, characterized by a balanced, harmonious and elegant taste. A label with which the Tommasi winery confirms itself as one of the winning choices when it comes to wines from Veneto.
