The “Monte Lodoletta” wine is a Valpolicella Superiore brought to life by one of the most celebrated and highly regarded producers in the region. Dal Forno Winery boasts four generations of viticulturists and manages a splendid estate spanning approximately 25 hectares in the picturesque Illasi hills. The mild and breezy climate, influenced by the proximity to Lake Garda, along with the predominantly calcareous soils, have long provided the perfect habitat for indigenous red grape varieties such as Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara. The turning point for the winery came with the encounter of Giuseppe Quintarelli, another historical figure in Valpolicella wine. Since then, Romano Dal Forno has committed to pursuing absolute quality, firmly convinced that such a gifted terroir deserved to be exalted through excellence in viticulture.
Romano Dal Forno’s “Monte Lodoletta” Valpolicella is one of those labels that skillfully encapsulate the history and traditions of a territory within a single glass. This genuine wine showcases extraordinary typicity, elegance, and pleasantness. After the harvest, the grapes undergo red vinification with extended skin maceration. Prior to bottling, the wine matures for 36 months in new barriques. In the glass, it reveals an intense ruby red hue. The aromatic profile unfolds with cherry and ripe red fruit notes, accompanied by nuances of dried fruits, noble woods, and spices.
