A very good year. A rainy spring, then a hot, sunny summer.
A cold, rainy spring and then a hot summer; careful vineyard work gave excellent results.
March and the spring were wet and cool: May alone had 18 rainy days and 229 mm, delaying flowering by about ten days. July and August were fine and hot. Hail struck the Classico zone on 24 August. From late August through September, wide swings between day and night built rich colour and tannin, and picking began at the usual time, from 20 September, with only scattered rain.
Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG by Le Guaite di Noemi
Le Guaite di Noemi’s Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG is a wine that embodies the passion and skill of its makers. The journey from vine to bottle is a meticulous process, beginning with the careful selection of grapes harvested at the beginning of October. These grapes are then left to dry for three months, intensifying their flavors and aromas.
After de-stemming and pressing, the grapes undergo cryomaceration, which enhances the extraction of color and aromas. Controlled-temperature fermentation with cultured yeasts and simultaneous malolactic fermentation create a complex and harmonious wine.
The wine is then matured for approximately 36 months in new French oak barriques, where it acquires an elegant and refined character. After bottling, it is aged for a further 48 months in the winery’s cellars, where it reaches its full potential.
The result is a wine with a deep ruby red color and garnet reflexes. On the nose, it offers notes of red cherry, black/blue berry, black plum, balsamic hint, fresh fennel, and pepper. The palate is smooth and seductive, with an appealing sapidity and optimal acidity. Frank notes of red and black fruits mature, spices, balsamic, fruits in spirits, and tertiary perfumes complete the tasting experience.
Le Guaite di Noemi’s Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG is a versatile wine that pairs well with a variety of foods. It goes perfectly with braised dishes, big steaks, roast beef, aged cheeses, and game meat. It is a wine that brings people together and is best enjoyed in good company.

Nestled in the heart of the Mezzane Valley, Le Guaite di Noemi is a testament to generations of dedication to the land. Since the 1960s, the Pizzighella family has nurtured this unique corner of eastern Valpolicella, transforming it from humble beginnings to a thriving winery. Initially cultivated by Carlo and Lina, the land transitioned to their son Stefano in 1984, who expanded the vineyards and embraced innovative techniques, recognizing the potential of the valley's distinct terroir.
The pivotal purchase of land on Le Guaite hill in 1990, by Stefano and Giulietta, marked the true birth of the winery, a ‘place of observation’ where the family would craft their iconic Valpolicella, Amarone, and Recioto. Giulietta officially established the winery in 2002, releasing their first vintage. Today, their daughter, Noemi Pizzighella, born in 1994, carries on the family legacy, managing the estate as Le Guaite di Noemi, a name that honours her connection to the land and the wines her parents created.
Spanning vineyards rich in Corvina, Rondinella, and Corvinone, the winery embodies a blend of time-honoured practices and modern viticulture. The family’s commitment extends beyond grapes, with a dedicated oil mill established in 1997, showcasing their holistic approach to the land’s bounty. Each bottle reflects a deep understanding of the soil, a love for the region, and a family’s unwavering dedication to producing wines that tell the story of the Mezzane Valley.
