Description

Amarone della Valpolicella Docg Riserva “Hatteso” by Garbole

Hatteso 2015 is Garbole’s Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva, conceived as a wine of depth, concentration, and long ageing potential. The grapes are carefully selected and traditionally dried to intensify fruit, extract, and aromatic complexity before a slow vinification that favors structure and longevity. The result is a Riserva built on power and balance, where intensity is matched by freshness and precision.

In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red tending toward garnet. The bouquet is layered and expansive, with ripe and dried fruit tones that recall sour cherry, plum and jam, followed by floral and spice nuances. As it opens, balsamic hints and a fresh touch of mint appear alongside darker accents of vanilla, coffee and chocolate that broaden the aromatic profile.

On the palate, Hatteso 2015 is rich, enveloping and velvety, with mature tannins and a firm structure that remains harmonious thanks to a vibrant acidic backbone and a savory feel. The finish is long, warm and persistent, echoing the fruit, spice and balsamic notes found on the nose. It is ideal for slow, important pairings such as braised meats, game, and aged cheeses, and it also works beautifully as a meditation wine.

About Garbole

Garbole is a small, independent wine estate founded in 1994 by brothers Ettore and Filippo Finetto. It is based in Tregnago, in the Valle d’Illasi area of the province of Verona, between Soave and Valpolicella.

The Finetto brothers define Garbole through a clear and personal approach: working as growers and winemakers with full control over decisions in the vineyard and cellar, and aiming for continuous improvement year after year. Their communication and materials emphasize independence and creative freedom, with a strong focus on red wines made in their own style and at their own pace.

Garbole has opened a dedicated direct sales, visit, and tasting location at its new site in San Zeno di Colognola ai Colli (VR), at Via Ceriani, 31. Visits and tastings are available by appointment only.

Among the best known labels of the estate are L’Hurlo, Hatteso, and Heletto, wines that reflect Garbole’s commitment to concentration, structure, and long ageing, shaped by a strongly individual identity.
