Description

Amarone della Valpolicella Docg Classico “Camporocco” by Le Marognole

The Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG “Camporocco” is made from carefully selected grapes grown at 350 meters above sea level in the terraced vineyards of Valpolicella Classica, where calcareous soils contribute to its natural acidity and long aging potential. After a slow drying process, the grapes are fermented in temperature-controlled tanks before spending 36 months in French oak tonneaux, allowing the wine to develop layers of aroma and structure without being dominated by wood influence.

With deep flavors of ripe cherry, balsamic notes, and toasted undertones, this Amarone combines richness with balance. It pairs well with red meat dishes and aged cheeses, but also complements dark chocolate or fig-based desserts, bringing out different nuances with each pairing. Capable of aging for 15-20 years, it is best served at 18°C to fully appreciate its depth and complexity.

About Le Marognole

Le Marognole is a family-run winery in Valgatara di Marano di Valpolicella, founded in 2004 by Fabio Corsi. The estate has deep agricultural roots, as Fabio’s family had cultivated grapes for generations but had always sold them rather than producing wine. After gaining experience in other wineries, he decided to begin vinification using the family’s vineyards, a choice that quickly established Le Marognole as a respected name in Valpolicella. Today, with the support of his wife Eleonora, the winery produces 40,000 bottles annually, gaining recognition for its commitment to quality.

Located in the hills of Valpolicella Classica, between the Verona plain and Lake Garda, the winery takes its name from the marògne, the dry-stone walls that support the terraced vineyards. The estate covers six hectares, planted exclusively with Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella. Every stage of vineyard work is carried out manually, from thinning the bunches to carefully selecting grapes at harvest to ensure only the best fruit is used.

Grapes destined for Amarone and Recioto are dried naturally throughout the winter, concentrating their sugars and aromas. The winery uses temperature-controlled stainless-steel tanks for fermentation, allowing precise control over each stage of production. Aging takes place in a combination of large oak barrels and barriques, depending on the wine’s structure and style.

The vineyards include Camporocco and Campogerico, two plots with excellent sun exposure and constant ventilation, situated at 350 meters above sea level. These sites, named by Fabio’s grandmother, produce grapes with strong character, contributing to wines that reflect both the land and the thoughtful approach to winemaking.
