Description

Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico “Ravazzòl” by Ca’ la Bionda

Soil: The soil is predominantly clay-limestone with a high percentage of rock and stone. This type of soil gives elegance and minerality to the wine, qualities essential to the ageing potential of a wine.
Vineyards: The vineyard is on a hill known as “Ravazzol”, renowned for its potential to grow the highest quality grapes thanks to its topographical and climatic conditions. The vineyard is at an altitude of between 200 and 300 meters above sea-level. The average age of vines varies from 50 to 70 years. The vineyard yield is held at a maximum of 5 to 6 tons per hectare.
Vintage: Vintage generally begins during the last ten days of September and continues through to the end of October.
Fermentation and aging: To make Amarone only the best grapes are used. The least compact bunches with the best exposure to sunlight are selected. Immediately after vintage the grape bunches are placed on cane drying racks which facilitate the drying or “raisining” of the grapes. This drying period lasts from vintage to the end of January or early February. During this “drying” period the grapes loose approximately 40% of their weight in water and undergo certain physio-chemical transformations that give to the finished wine a unique bouquet and flavour as well as a remarkable concentration. The making of Amarone is not only about technical expertise but also the result of rigorous work in the vineyard and a patient and meticulous period of ageing lasting for four years from the completion of fermentation.
This Amarone is fermented in stainless steel tanks at the very low temperature of 10-15°C. This is due to the low ambient temperature during winter. Following fermentation the wine is left to age for 36 months in 3000 litre new oak barrels. Once bottled the wine remains in the winery for a further period of 8 months before its commercial release.
Tasting notes and food suggestions: This wine is a deep ruby red tending towards garnet. The nose is rich and complex with aromas of sour cherries, blackberries, tobacco and candied fruits. The palate is rich and intense with similar fruit characters, fine tannins and exceptional length. This is a wine that will not leave you indifferent. Ideally this wine goes with red meats such as char-grilled steak, slow-cooked stews and game or it can be simply sipped and savoured in “meditation” as we say in Italy.

How long will delivery take?

The Delivery timing depends on your location & which service you choose during the checkout. Please note that the number of days indicated on the courier label is an estimate and couriers do not calculate festive days such as Saturdays or Sundays. Furthermore many things can happen to delay the delivery such as: adverse weather conditions, weekends, holidays, variation on trade agreement between countries & such. In any case, after your order gets picked up and it's ready to be shipped, our partner Mailboxes etc. will send you a tracking code to check on your delivery and they'll be able to assist you at anytime for updates on your shipping.

What exactly happens after ordering?

Immediately after your order you'll receive an email with your order confirmation & details. If you see notice that you purchased something by mistake or you forgot to buy something, don't worry! Simply contact us , we'll immediately discuss with you on how to fix the issue, we can either reimburse you so that you can do a new order or we can swap some items in your order etc.

After the order confirmation we'll arrange the pick up and delivery of your package from our wine bar in Venice. As soon as we've arranged that we'll send you a tracking number so that you can monitor the location of your goods via the courier's website until you receive it.

Do I receive an invoice for my order?

Sure you do. It will either be automatically sent after the order confirmation, or we will ship it with your package. If a bottle arrives broken please make sure to make a few photos of the damaged package, both of the box and of the broken bottle itself (make sure not to heart yourself with the glass during the process!). We insure every package at our expense so after you'll send us the pictures and some further details we'll immediately contact the shipping company to get a refund and in turn refund you.

What if a wine is gone sour or has serious flaws? In this case, we'll further enquire you as the type of flaw the wine has, we'll ask you some pictures of the wine ID in order to contact the winery and work on a reimbursment or a new bottle. After all procedures have taken place we'll either ship to you a new bottle of the same amount or provide you with a coupon discount with the value of the bottle.

In case some items are missing in the order or you receive the wrong goods we will immediately initiate a enquiry both with our staff and with the courier in order to verify what issues have occured. As soon as the enquiry is finished & after having confirmation that 1 or more of your goods are missing or are wrong we'll immediately work sending the missing or right product as well as organizing the return for the wrong wine/s.

For any return to be arrange you will have to contact within 30 days of the arrival of the goods. After that period it won't be possible for us to get a refund either from the shipping company nor from the winery and therefore it won't be possible to refund you in turn.
