Valpolicella Superiore DOC “La Bandina” by Tenuta Sant’Antonio
“La Bandina” Valpolicella Superiore is a red wine that showcases the character of the region by highlighting the local grape heritage. Produced by Tenuta Sant’Antonio, it is made from a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina and Oseleta, native red grape varieties that represent the depth of Valpolicella viticulture. This label can be described as “comfortable,” as it offers a soft and warm sip with a smooth structure. It is classic, round and harmonious, yet it still manages to seduce like it is being tasted for the first time.
“La Bandina” is made from a blend of native Valpolicella grape varieties, grown in plots located about 300 meters above sea level on sandy and limestone soil. The grapes are gently pressed by Tenuta Sant’Antonio and the must ferments in steel containers before undergoing malolactic fermentation. It is aged for 24 months in new French oak tonneaux, resulting in a wine with an intense and concentrated ruby red color and a wide and stratified profile of aromas, including fruity notes and shades of aromatic herbs and spices. In the mouth, it is full-bodied and enveloping, with a fresh vein that balances its warm taste and finely integrated tannins. “La Bandina” is a key product of Tenuta Sant’Antonio’s production and a great introduction to the world of Valpolicella.
