Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico Riserva “Fumetto” by Secondo Marco
“Fumetto” is the Amarone Riserva by Secondo Marco winery, a wine that represents Marco Speri’s desire to create an exceptional wine capable of competing with the renowned wine producers, Dal Forno and Quintarelli.
The vineyards are located in the heart of Valpolicella, at the foot of the Lessini Mountains, in the most famous and historical areas, specifically in Fiumane.
Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Fumetto is made up of 55% Corvina, 35% Corvinone, and 10% Rondinella grapes. The prolonged maceration takes place in temperature-controlled steel tanks, and after malolactic fermentation, the wine is aged for 1 year in cement and 7 years in large Slavonian oak barrels. It completes its maturation with an additional 3 years in the bottle.
The label is divided into vignettes that represent the most important events that occurred in 2008, the year of the harvest of the Amarone Fumetto Secondo Marco.
Selected by AIS Veneto as the best aged wine, the Amarone Riserva Fumetto 2008 is a fresh wine, with an incredible vivacity on the nose that is maintained even after almost 10 years. The mature red fruit dominates the scene, followed by balsamic and citrus notes. It enters the palate silently and then explodes with an almost endless aromatic persistence. What a wine!
This is a high-level Amarone, ideal for collectors. Only 3000 bottles were produced.
