Description

Amarone della Valpolicella Docg “Monte Serea” by Gini

The Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG “Monte Serea” by Gini offers a truly refined expression of its vineyard’s character, shaped by crystalline sunlight, fresh breezes, and soils rich with volcanic minerals. This unique blend, crafted from Corvina (60%), Corvinone (25%), Rondinella (10%), and Oseleta (5%), shows a striking ruby-red hue that hints at its depth and richness.

Its aroma presents an elegant mix of silky, peppery notes with layers of black cherries, blueberries, and currants, touched by hints of pomegranate. A subtle undertone of damp tobacco leaf and a whisper of licorice add to its appeal, creating an aromatic profile that is both complex and inviting.

On the palate, Monte Serea is smooth and well-balanced, with a lively freshness that complements its velvety texture. Dry, savory, and structured, this Amarone is a pleasure to enjoy now, with the potential to evolve beautifully over time. Serve it at 16°-18°C to accompany hearty red meat dishes or game, and discover the depth that the Monte Serea vineyard brings to every glass.

About Gini

Gini Winery has a rich heritage dating back to 1570, with the Gini family nurturing vineyards in Monteforte d'Alpone for over 15 generations. This enduring legacy reflects their deep-rooted passion and commitment to viticulture.

Situated in the heart of the Soave Classico region, Gini Winery is renowned for producing exceptional wines such as Soave and Recioto di Soave. The vineyards benefit from volcanic soils and unique microclimates, contributing to the distinctive character and longevity of their white wines.

Embracing a philosophy that harmonizes tradition with innovation, Gini Winery employs organic farming practices and maintains a profound respect for the environment. Their approach includes preserving old Garganega vines, some over a century old, and implementing high-density planting (up to 13,000 vines per hectare) to ensure low yields per vine, resulting in superior grape quality.

Gini's portfolio extends beyond Soave, encompassing red wines from their Tenuta Scajari estate in the eastern Valpolicella hills. Here, at altitudes between 400 and 600 meters, they cultivate varieties like Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, producing wines that embody the elegance and complexity of this unique terroir.

Through a seamless blend of historical expertise and forward-thinking practices, Gini Winery continues to craft wines that authentically express the essence of their origins, offering a genuine taste of the Veneto region's rich viticultural heritage.
