Description

Amarone della Valpolicella Docg “Punta 470” by Ca’ Rugate

A captivating expression of Italian winemaking mastery, Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG “Punta 470” graces your glass with an intense garnet red hue that hints at the richness contained within. A first sniff reveals a lavish bouquet that effortlessly blends concentrated aromas of ripe blueberries, blackberries, and cherries, elevated by a subtle undertone of spicy oak. As you take a sip, your palate is enveloped by the full-bodied opulence of the wine. The robust flavors meld seamlessly, with luxuriant fruit notes leading to a complex, beautifully balanced finish that lingers in your mouth, urging you to savor the experience.

Crafted from a distinctive blend of 45% Corvina, 15% Rondinella, and 40% Corvinone grapes, the wine undergoes a meticulous production process to achieve its remarkable quality. Handpicked during the last two weeks of September from Ca’ Rugate’s own premium vineyards located in the scenic hills of Montecchia di Crosara, the grapes are laid carefully in small wooden boxes to dry gently in well-ventilated rooms for 4-5 months. This crucial step concentrates not only their flavors but also their sweetness and color. Natural fermentation is initiated and then completed in 500L oak casks, where the wine matures for 25 to 30 months to perfect its unique character.

Best enjoyed at an initial serving temperature of 17°C, it pairs magnificently with char-grilled meats, mature cheese, and game, making it an excellent choice for special occasions, the conclusion of a sumptuous meal, or moments of solitary reflection. With an alcohol content of 15%, and a limited production run of 30,000 bottles, Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG “Punta 470” is not just a wine—it’s an experience that promises to be rich, intricate, and absolutely unforgettable.

About Ca' Rugate

Ca’ Rugate was founded over a century ago by the Tessari family, who gradually expanded their vineyards across Soave, Valpolicella, and Lessini Durello. They focus on highlighting the natural traits of the land, with key plots on volcanic and calcareous soils at Montecchia di Crosara, 450 meters above sea level.

The winery spans 4,000 square meters on three levels. At the top is a drying loft for Recioto di Soave grapes, while Amarone grapes dry in a separate space. On the lower level, French oak barrels refine various wines, and a special cellar stores older vintages. Part of the production includes a Spumante Metodo Classico, Fulvio Beo, with its second fermentation on-site.

By blending tradition and current techniques, Ca’ Rugate produces wines that emphasize the distinct qualities of each region. The Tessari family’s legacy remains evident in every bottle, from crisp Soave Classico to robust Amarone and unique Lessini Durello.
