Description

Valpolicella Classico Superiore DOC “Toar” by Masi

The Valpolicella of the future, “Toar” is a bold and structured red wine that brings together tradition and innovation. The addition of Oseleta, a nearly forgotten native grape rediscovered by Masi, enhances the familiar elegance of Corvina and Rondinella with added depth and intensity.

Named after the volcanic rock in its vineyards, Toar expresses both power and finesse. It reveals ripe cherry and blueberry aromas, enriched by hints of vanilla. On the palate, the wine unfolds with layers of dark berry fruit, soft spices like cinnamon and cloves, and a dry, lingering finish.

Aged for 14 months in wood, this wine offers remarkable complexity while maintaining the freshness and drinkability characteristic of Valpolicella. Its balanced tannins and good acidity make it a versatile companion for grilled meats, roast beef, game, and semi-aged cheeses.

With a shelf life of over 15 years, Toar is a great choice for both immediate enjoyment and long-term aging. Best served at 18°C.

About Masi

Tradition, Innovation, and Venetian Heritage

Founded in 1772, Masi’s story begins in the Vaio dei Masi vineyards of Valpolicella Classica, where the Boscaini family harvested their first grapes. Over generations, the winery has expanded across historic estates in the Venetian regions, blending deep-rooted tradition with modern expertise.

Renowned for Amarone, Masi specializes in native grape varieties and Appassimento, an ancient drying technique that enhances depth and complexity. The winery has built a global presence while maintaining a strong commitment to sustainability, research, and cultural preservation.

Beyond Valpolicella, Masi has extended its vision to Tuscany, Trentino, Friuli, and Argentina, carefully selecting terroirs that align with its philosophy. Through collaborations with historic estates like Serego Alighieri, it continues to honor the Venetian winemaking legacy while embracing the future.

With a presence in nearly 140 countries, Masi is a global ambassador of Venetian culture, producing wines that capture the character of their land and the expertise of those who craft them.
