Description

Valpolicella Doc Classico by Ca’ la Bionda

Ca’ La Bionda’s Valpolicella DOC Classico comes from the historic Valpolicella Classica area, in the Marano valley. The estate farms hillside vineyards between 150 and 300 meters above sea level, with east and south east exposure. Its soils are mainly clay and limestone with a strong presence of stones and rock, a mix that supports natural acidity and finesse, keeping the wine bright and agile.

The blend is led by Corvina and Corvinone, completed by Rondinella and Molinara. Harvest takes place from late August through September. Vinification is carried out in stainless steel with temperature control (up to 25°C). Maceration lasts about seven days, extracting color and clean fruit character without pushing heaviness. The wine then rests for around five months before release.

In the glass, it shows a clear, youthful profile. Aromas lean toward fresh red fruit with floral hints of violet. On the palate it is elegant and light on its feet, defined by lively freshness and easy drinkability. A classic Valpolicella meant to be opened often, suited to the table and to relaxed, everyday occasions.

About Ca' La Bionda

Cà la Bionda is a historic wine estate in Marano di Valpolicella, founded in 1902 by Pietro Castellani. It remains a family-run operation, now guided by fourth-generation brothers Alessandro (winemaker) and Nicola (vine specialist).

The property spans 29 hectares of hillside vineyards at altitudes between 150 and 300 meters, planted exclusively with native grapes such as Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara.

Traditional production methods play a key role here, resulting in distinctive labels that include:

  • Valpolicella Classico
  • Valpolicella Classico Superiore “Casalvegri”
  • Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore “Malavoglia”
  • Amarone della Valpolicella Classico
  • Amarone della Valpolicella Classico “Ravazzol”
  • Recioto della Valpolicella Classico “Le Tordare”

Since 2016, the winery has held official organic certification, refraining from synthetic chemicals and using techniques such as sexual confusion to protect the vines. Sheep graze between the rows, keeping weeds in check and enriching the soil naturally.

This thoughtful approach helps preserve the delicate balance of the land, resulting in wines that convey a clear sense of their origin in Valpolicella.
