Ca' La Bionda
Amarone & Valpolicella Wines by Ca’ La Bionda
Cà la Bionda is a historic wine estate in Marano di Valpolicella, founded in 1902 by Pietro Castellani. It remains a family-run operation, now guided by fourth-generation brothers Alessandro (winemaker) and Nicola (vine specialist). The property spans 29 hectares of hillside vineyards at altitudes between 150 and 300 meters, planted exclusively with native grapes such as Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and Molinara.
Traditional production methods play a key role here, resulting in distinctive labels that include Valpolicella Classico, Valpolicella Classico Superiore “Casalvegri,” Valpolicella Ripasso Classico Superiore “Malavoglia,” Amarone della Valpolicella Classico, Amarone della Valpolicella Classico “Ravazzol,” and Recioto della Valpolicella Classico “Le Tordare.”
Since 2016, the winery has held official organic certification, refraining from synthetic chemicals and using techniques such as sexual confusion to protect the vines. Sheep graze between the rows, keeping weeds in check and enriching the soil naturally. This thoughtful approach helps preserve the delicate balance of the land, resulting in wines that convey a clear sense of their origin in Valpolicella.
