Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso DOC “Il Vegro” 2023 – MAGNUM
Il Vegro is a Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso produced by Brigaldara, an estate located in the San Floriano del Collio area of the Valpolicella Classica zone. The ripasso method involves re-fermenting the wine on the skins and lees remaining from Amarone production, adding body, colour and complexity. The resulting wine sits between a standard Valpolicella and an Amarone in terms of structure and concentration. The magnum format slows the ageing process slightly, generally favouring longer cellaring potential compared with a standard bottle.
Brigaldara is a family-owned estate based in San Floriano, in the Valpolicella Classico zone of the Veneto region. The winery has been producing wine since the late 19th century and is currently managed by the Cesari family. It is primarily known for its Amarone della Valpolicella, Ripasso, and Valpolicella Classico wines, made from traditional local varieties including Corvina, Rondinella, and Molinara.
