Ca' Rugate
Wines by Ca’ Rugate
The hills of eastern Verona have long offered a different expression of Veneto, where volcanic soils and changing elevations shape wines of clarity and depth. In Montecchia di Crosara, within the Soave Classico area, Ca’ Rugate has grown out of this landscape, building its identity around a close and continuous relationship with the land.
The story of Ca’ Rugate spans more than a century and is inseparable from the Tessari family, who have guided the estate across four generations. From the early years of small-scale farming and wine trade, the winery gradually developed into a structured and focused agricultural reality, always maintaining a strong link to its origins.
Over time, the estate expanded across three distinct territories – Soave Classico, Valpolicella and Lessini Durello – each offering different soils, altitudes and conditions. This diversity is not treated as a single identity, but rather observed carefully, allowing each area to retain its own voice within the range.
The vineyards are planted with traditional varieties such as Garganega, Trebbiano di Soave and Durella for the whites, alongside Corvina, Rondinella and Corvinone for the reds. Particular attention is given to historic sites and selected plots, where the character of the soil and exposure can emerge with precision.
Today, Ca’ Rugate represents a steady interpretation of its territory, shaped by continuity, careful observation and a long familiarity with the rhythms of the vineyard, resulting in wines that remain closely tied to their place of origin.
