Description

Valpolicella DOC Classico Superiore “Verjago” by Domini Veneti

A wine that is a story to tell, starting from the label and the collar it brings. A story that speaks of typicality, tradition and pursuit of excellence.

This wine comes from highly selected grapes from the hilly vineyards which, after the manual harvest in crates, are left to dry for 40 days in special rooms, the fruit lofts. This phase is followed by careful vinification and aging in wood, then in the bottle.

The result is a noble and captivating Valpolicella, which goes perfectly with all types of meat, both grilled and braised, and aged cheeses.

About Domini Veneti

Domìni Veneti traces its origins to 1933, when a group of local grape growers in Valpolicella formed the Cantina Sociale Valpolicella Negrar cooperative. Their aim was to protect the region’s vineyards and preserve its long-standing winemaking traditions. In 1936, an overlooked barrel of Recioto continued fermenting by mistake, transforming into the dry and aromatic red later named Amarone. This discovery sparked a new direction in Valpolicella winemaking.

By 1989, the cooperative launched Domìni Veneti as a focused line of premium selections, drawing its name from the historical period when the region belonged to the Republic of Venice. Today, the winery draws on decades of local know-how and a fortunate blend of soil and climate. Every step, from tending vines to cellar practices, respects nature’s own pace.

Red or white, sweet or dry, wines bearing the Domìni Veneti name arise from the Valpolicella Classica zone and other Veronese areas. Amarone stands out as the so-called King of Valpolicella, born from that accidental moment in 1936. Recioto remains a sweet red DOCG, prized for its deep hue and prolonged grape-drying process. Valpolicella and Ripasso recall methods rooted in earlier generations, while Custoza, Lugana, Soave, Bardolino, Bardolino Chiaretto, and Raudii IGT round out the range of regional offerings.

What unites them all is an approach guided by human skill and the natural environment. The soil, vines, and climate work together to form wines that share a strong connection with the place they come from. This balance of tradition and thoughtful progress defines Domìni Veneti, a name that continues to champion authentic Valpolicella wines and the land that inspires them.
