Graziano Prà
Wines by Graziano Prà
Some wineries are shaped by a single intuition, others by a long and steady understanding of place. Graziano Prà belongs to the latter, having built his work around the conviction that great wine begins in the vineyard and must remain faithful to the land from which it comes. In the hills of Soave and, later, in the cooler reaches of Valpolicella, this vision has taken form through a close reading of terroir, native grapes and hillside viticulture.
Graziano Prà grew up in a family deeply connected to viticulture, following a path that moved from the vineyards managed by his father and grandfather to formal training as an oenologist. The turning point came in the 1980s, when the estate began to take on its present shape, first as F.lli Prà and then, from 2007, under Graziano as sole owner. Over time, the winery grew by giving increasing importance to specific sites, among them Monte Grande, Monte Bisson and Morandina.
The foundations of the estate lie in the Soave hills, where forty hectares of volcanic soils provide one of the most suited environments for Garganega and Trebbiano di Soave. Here, the relationship between altitude, microclimate and native varieties defines wines of precision and longevity. The same attention to place later extended to Valpolicella, where eight hectares on calcareous, fragmented soils in a markedly cooler area offer a different but equally distinctive expression.
Across both territories, the guiding principle remains the same: careful work in the vineyard, accurate selection of fruit and a measured approach in the cellar, always aimed at preserving freshness, elegance and clarity. In Valpolicella, this is reflected in a range that includes Valpolicella, Ripasso, Valpolicella Superiore and Amarone, wines shaped by precision rather than excess.
Today, Graziano Prà presents a coherent interpretation of two historic Veronese territories, united by a respect for native grapes and by the belief that wine should reveal, as clearly as possible, the character of the land in which it is born.
