Stars from the Consorzio Tutela Vini Valpolicella, for Amarone della Valpolicella
A very good, cooler year. A wet spring, then a fine summer and ripe grapes.
A return to the normal calendar: a cool year with complete ripeness.
The winter was close to average. April to June was wet and humid, and downy mildew tested the growers. After a slightly rainy July, August was fine, so the grapes ripened well and the earlier problems faded. Light hail fell in small patches without effect. Dry, slightly warm weather with sharp night cooling at harvest, from 22 September, brought full ripeness of skins and seeds and healthy grapes.

Villa Rinaldi โ A Unique Italian Maison de Nรฉgoce
Villa Rinaldi has been shaping its identity since the late 19th century, when Marcello Rinaldi laid the foundation for a winery deeply rooted in tradition. Over the decades, the family remained at the helm, refining its approach to both sparkling wines and great Valpolicella reds. A defining moment came in the 1960s when Rinaldo Rinaldi transformed the winery into an Italian Maison de Nรฉgoce, focusing on select Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from Trentino Alto Adige and reviving historic winemaking methods.
A Vision of Excellence
Villa Rinaldi has long stood out for its dedication to Classic Method sparkling wines, refining techniques such as dรฉgorgement ร la volรฉe and extended aging in French oak barriques. The winery introduced Barricaia Brut in 1986, setting a new benchmark for barrel-aged sparkling wines. It later pushed boundaries with Barricaia Noir, a red sparkling wine blending Corvina and Pinot Noir, an unconventional yet masterful creation.
The portfolio also includes Recioto della Valpolicella Metodo Classico, a rare interpretation of a historic style that reflects Veronaโs deepest winemaking traditions. Over the years, Villa Rinaldi has gained recognition through international awards, including multiple gold medals at Vinitaly and prestigious titles such as Best Classic Method Sparkling Wine at Challenge Euposia.
A Style Like No Other
What defines Villa Rinaldi is a bold, independent approach to winemaking. The focus remains on carefully selected grape varieties, long aging, and methods that require precision and patience. Every bottle carries the imprint of this philosophy, where elegance, structure, and longevity come together.
