Cà dei Conti
Amarone & Valpolicella Wines by Cà dei Conti
Ca’ dei Conti, situated in Tregnago within Val d’Illasi, operates in the heart of the eastern Valpolicella DOC region. Established in 2006 by siblings Renzo and Loredana Rancan, the winery carries forward a tradition rooted in quality winemaking and environmental respect. Under the expertise of winemaker Fabio, the winery revives historic grape varieties such as Croatina and Oseleta, known for their lower yields yet valued complexity, adding depth to their range.
Sustainability is a cornerstone at Ca’ dei Conti. They focus on eco-friendly practices, using native and pest-resistant Piwi grape varieties, which help reduce pesticide use and eliminate chemical application by machinery. Their organic “TANO” Amarone DOC showcases this commitment, producing a wine with layered, rich flavors that capture the essence of the land. The winery’s sustainable approach is recognized by the “Slow Wine” guide, affirming their commitment to quality aligned with environmental care. Membership in FIVI highlights their dedication to independent winemaking practices.
Their vineyards, located on the higher hills of Valpolicella, enjoy optimal southern exposure and natural ventilation, contributing to grapes that ripen well and are less susceptible to mold and pests. This, combined with the calcareous, skeletal-rich soil, results in wines with a deep color, strong structure, and smooth finish. High-density planting (9,000 vines per hectare) and a careful grape selection process lead to wines that balance body and elegance. Each bottle embodies the meticulous work in both vineyard and cellar, offering a genuine representation of Valpolicella’s character and quality.
