Secondo Marco
Wines by Secondo Marco
In the hills of Fumane, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, Secondo Marco has taken shape within a landscape where tradition is deeply rooted yet open to reinterpretation. Here, between the influence of the Lessini mountains and the milder air coming from Lake Garda, the vineyards benefit from a balanced climate and a soil rich in mineral variation.
The winery was founded in 2008 by Marco Speri, a member of one of the historic families of Valpolicella. As part of the fifth generation, he chose to follow his own path, building a project that remains closely connected to tradition while expressing a more personal and contemporary vision.
The vineyards extend across a limited surface in the Fumane area, where careful site selection and direct management allow for precise control of each stage of production. A distinctive element of the estate is the use of a modified pergola system, known as the “Y” training method, designed to increase light exposure and air circulation within the canopy.
Work in the vineyard is carried out with close attention to the natural rhythm of the vines, with the aim of preserving the character of the fruit. In the cellar, fermentation with native yeasts and ageing in large oak casks follow a restrained approach that allows the wines to retain clarity and balance.
Production includes the classic wines of the denomination, from Valpolicella and Ripasso to Amarone and Recioto, interpreted through a style that combines structure, freshness and aromatic precision.
Today, Secondo Marco presents a focused interpretation of Valpolicella Classica, shaped by family heritage, individual vision and a careful balance between continuity and change.
