Tommaso Bussola
Amarone & Valpolicella Wines by Tommaso Bussola
In the heart of Valpolicella Classica, Tommaso Bussola Winery narrates a tale of passion, enthusiasm, and unyielding innovation. The journey began in 1977 when Tommaso Bussola, a young man marked by a blend of stubbornness and curiosity, stepped into the small winery owned by his uncle, Giuseppe. Initially adhering to the traditional Valpolicella methods, Tommaso’s ambitions soon urged him to forge a new path.
By 1983, Tommaso’s instinctive winemaking ventures had begun, marking a pivotal moment as he meticulously selected grapes for Amarone and Recioto. This pursuit of excellence led to a significant breakthrough in 1992-1993, with the construction of a new wine cellar and the introduction of barriques. The result was a transformation in fermentation quality, and the birth of a new label, ‘TB’, synonymous with innovative style and top-tier quality, now recognized worldwide.
Tommaso’s journey became a family legacy when his wife, Daniela, joined the venture in 1995, embedding her essence into the company. The narrative further enriched in 2005, with the entry of their sons, Paolo and Giuseppe, cementing the winery’s status as a proud, family-run beacon in the Valpolicella Classica area, upholding the region’s values and culture.
At the core of Tommaso Bussola Winery lies a philosophy steeped in the balance of tradition and experimentation. Since Tommaso’s inaugural vinification in 1983, the winery has embraced empirical research and innovative techniques, both in the vineyard and the cellar, without losing sight of its traditional roots. Every year is a journey towards enhancing the gifts of their land, striving to craft wines that are a true reflection of their identity.
The harvesting process is a testament to their dedication, with each grape bunch meticulously handpicked, starting from the ones designated for drying to those for immediate pressing. This commitment extends to their stewardship of the land, employing natural methods in soil fertilization and pest prevention, honoring and respecting the land that yields their exquisite wines.
Tommaso Bussola Winery stands as a beacon of dedication and excellence, where patience, innovation, and a deep respect for nature converge to produce wines that are not just beverages, but stories in a bottle, waiting to be shared with the world.
